July 2020: FOALS!
Its July and its hot, muggy and hot in central Texas. Our garden is overflowing with squash, beans and tomatoes, deer sip from our pond daily and a huge owl just moved in to one of the oak trees in the back pasture. But the best part about this time of the year is that the 2020 crop of foals are on the ground and providing great entertainment for us throughout the day! They run, they jump, they prance, they stop and turn like futurity champs-in-training. And they eat, sleep and poop in the cutest ways! EVERYTHING about a foal is cute!
And the best part about foals? They’ll be weaned, nurtured and ready for your own cute little young’uns by the winter holidays! Want to really excite your kids this year? Buy them a cute and playful foal and put that under the tree. They’ll love you forever!
This year was a bit lean for us in the foal department – we now only have 2 available. A beautiful colt named Teles Me Im Hot by Meteles Cat out of CR Hot Meow. Meteles Cat! Can you say Big Money Winner!? This bay boy is shedding out into a handsome young stallion – and is incredibly docile, kind and curious. What a great build! We also have the absolute sweetest, cutest, fun-to-watch filly named Junie (barn name – YOU decide her registered name!). A Light N Lena (RIP) newborn out of Duals Bitty Kitty. Although sorrel, this young sweetheart has the markings of a gorgeous rabicano – we are excited to see how she sheds out! And talk about playful – she has the most incredible moves in the pen we’ve seen out of any of our horses! We’re thinking about starting her on the flag just to see how she tracks! (joking, joking…kind of).
We love and care for all of our horses, but foals are always near and dear to our hearts. It’s so rewarding, exciting and comforting to have a brand spanking new little furry baby horse walk right up to you and nuzzle your hand and turn so you can scratch its butt. Foals bring peace to an otherwise hectic day, lower your blood pressure, calm your frazzled nerves and provide hours of entertainment.
