INFINITY OAKS RANCH FOAL SALES PROGRAM

We take great pride in providing high-quality horses and have been in business performing these services for more than 20 years.  Our foals are our babies and we carefully work with them to prepare them for transfer to their new owner(s).  We do not “train” foals; rather, we interact with them daily so they understand that humans are their providers and caretakers but are not their “friends”.  Our aim is to build trust with them and to teach them respect to keep them from biting, pushing or kicking in the future.  We touch, rub and scratch them, touch their legs and feet, groom them, put on/remove halters and lead them around inside their stalls.  Through off-site vet appointments for them or their mothers we introduce them to being trailered, and load/off-load them from trailers several times during their nurturing.  We drive tractors and vehicles near their stalls to acclimate them to motor noises, and we have our dogs and miniature donkey Maggie with us to introduce them to other animals they might encounter at your home.

We will take VERY good care of your newly-purchased foal while it is in our care – your foal is a part of our family until it transfers to yours!

Your non-weaned foal will remain on-site at Infinity Oaks Ranch until it is fully weaned at 6 months after birth.  We WILL NOT release the foal sooner than this.  We believe the foal must have 6 full months of nurturing from its mother and us before it is available to be picked up.  Transferring the foal sooner can be traumatic and may cause behavioral issues.

A deposit of $1000 is required to hold the foal in your name.  This deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE except for the following:

  1. The foal dies before being weaned.
  2. The foal becomes permanently lame.
  3. Other conditions render the foal medically unsound.

Foals are like human kids – they run, jump and play.  Doing so they often cut, bump or scratch themselves.  Most of the time these injuries are superficial and heal with no permanent scars or problems.  Small cuts and scratches are normal and are not a reason to cancel the sale or receive a deposit refund.  We will treat all cuts appropriately and, if necessary, take your foal to the vet for additional or advanced care.  We will absorb routine care costs as a part of our foal-care process, but because this is your foal you are financially responsible for any advanced treatments: we will gain your consent before taking your foal to the vet for treatment.  Medically we will provide at no cost: worming, vaccines, hoof trim and other routine care treatments.  All foals are wormed at 2 weeks and again at 6 months, just before being weaned.  We will also vaccinate your foal at 6 months.  During the first few months after birth we have a farrier rasp your foal’s hooves so it becomes used to the trimming process.  If needed we will have your foal’s hooves trimmed before weaning.

Payment is due in full at the time of weaning/release to you.  You may pay in full at the original date of purchase or make a $1,000 deposit and monthly payments while the foal is in our care.  All paperwork (registration, transfer form, medical information, etc) will remain with Infinity Oaks Ranch until payment is made in full, including a 14-day hold period if paying by check.  Legal ownership of the foal remains with Infinity Oaks Ranch until payment is made in full and until the 6-month weaning period ends.  Your foal may not leave the Ranch with you until payment is made in full and any check(s) have cleared.

Once a deposit has been made to reserve your foal you may visit it at any time; however, we require notice of intent to visit 24 hours in advance.  We are a small operation and often leave the Ranch for many reasons.  We keep our gates locked when we are not home so the 24-hour notice gives us time to arrange our schedule to ensure someone is home to welcome you and assist with your visit.  You may not access Ranch property unless we are on-site and available.

Once you make a deposit the foal becomes yours to purchase.  We will remove the foal from any advertising efforts and will cancel any on-site visits from other potential buyers.  The foal remains yours until/unless you determine to cancel the purchase.  Should you cancel the purchase at any time and for any reason except for those noted above, you knowingly agree to forfeit your deposit and any monthly payments made and understand that money will not be returned to you.  Please make your decision to purchase carefully and with full understanding of your financial obligation.

If you would like to have a Pre Purchase Exam (PPE) completed by your vet or ours before taking your new foal home you may do so at your expense.  Keep in mind that the only qualifying reasons for a refund are noted above.  Our vet services are provided by the Texas Equine Hospital in Bryan, TX, founded by the esteemed Cliff Honnas.  Dr. Honnas is sought out world-wide by serious horse owners and is renowned as an equine veterinarian.  His staff of on-site vets focus solely on equine health and well-being.  They perform detailed PPEs at their Bryan office daily; you are welcome to contact them for a PPE or contact your own vet.  We will transport your foal to the vet of your choice for the PPE (within a 3 hr drive of Kosse, TX) at a small fee to recover our transport costs (typically .50 per mile).  Because the mother must always remain with the foal, for safety and insurance reasons only Ranch personnel may transport your non-weaned foal off Ranch property.

We appreciate you as a customer and know you will thoroughly enjoy your horse from Infinity Oaks Ranch!
